Introduction

Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs) such as Diabetes, Hypertension, Heart Diseases, Cancer, Stroke, and Chronic Respiratory Illnesses are emerging as major health challenges.
The National Programme for Prevention and Control of Cancer, Diabetes, Cardiovascular Diseases and Stroke (NPCDCS) has been launched to reduce premature mortality and improve the quality of life.

At CHC Padmapur, we provide screening, diagnosis, treatment, referral and health education for NCD patients.

  • Free Medicines under NIRAMAYA scheme
  • Routine BP & Blood Sugar testing at OPD, outreach camps & VHND
  • Health & Wellness Centres (HWCs) linked with CHC for community-based screening
  • Referral Support to District Hospital & higher centers for specialized care

Screening & Early Detection

  • Opportunistic screening for all individuals above 30 years
  • Population-based screening by ASHA & ANM at village level
  • Cancer Screening:
    • Oral Cancer (tobacco users)
    • Breast Cancer (self-exam + clinical exam)
    • Cervical Cancer (VIA test for women 30–65 years)
  • Maintenance of NCD Register at CHC for follow-up patients

Awareness & Prevention Activities

  • Health talks on healthy diet, physical activity, no tobacco, no alcohol
  • Yoga & lifestyle modification sessions
  • World NCD Day / World Diabetes Day / No Tobacco Day observed with community participation
  • Distribution of IEC materials at VHND & OPD
